Training and scoring materials
To safeguard the reliability of assessment data, it is crucial to ensure standardised examinations protocols and consistent definitions. The Neurostatus-UHB training materials are designed to provide raters with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct accurate and reliable assessments.
Training materials are requested by the study Sponsor and are distributed amongst raters as needed.
The training materials consist of:
- 1Neurostatus-EDSS self-training USB stick
- 2Neurostatus-EDSS Definitions Booklet (i.e. scoring manual)
- 3Neurostatus-EDSS Scoring Tables
The scoring sheet is used by the rater to capture the assessment scores and to calculate the final EDSS step.
Neurostatus Training USB Stick
The Neurostatus Training USB Stick is intended for self-study and includes:
The training material contained on the USB stick is essential learning for physicians who wish to become certified in the scoring system for the Neurostatus-EDSS and its Functional Systems and Ambulation Score, especially those who are involved in single or multi-centre clinical studies. USB stick self-training is therefore recommended even where group training sessions are being provided.
Reviewing the training USB in tandem with the Definitions Booklet is the best way to learn, understand, and prepare for the certification e-Test. It provides all the information that the rater needs to achieve certification.
The answer to every e-Test question is included in the EDSS definition booklet, which should be used during the e-Test.
Delivery and Support
Delivery of the Neurostatus Training USB stick is only available to those participating in clinical trials or academic studies licensed to use the Neurostatus-EDSS. It is not sold separately to the public or healthcare professionals outside of these contexts.
